We have evolved from a Family run Builders Merchant (Lumley & Hunt) which has been established in the Town since 1958 into a growing plumbers merchants. Nigel has been with the company since 1978 and 7 other members of staff have served over 20 years. We offer a wealth of knowledge and experience which means we are able to offer a very high level of service.
We have a Sparesbase, a Bathroom showroom and an Ecobase (offering renewable solutions) Showroom. The Bathroom showroom (Bathbase) can provide a design service to their clients. Our showroom has 30 full bath/shower room settings incorporating 24 shower enclosures, some of which include working displays of both electric and power-showers. Sparesbase has a dedicated vehicle which can be used to provide a quick response delivery service for those customers who require parts etc in an emergency. The Ecobase is relatively new to the portfolio at the Branch but our intention is provide a showroom with working displays and also have the facility of offering site surveys from dedicated, trained renewable staff if necessary.
Because we have dedicated staff in each department, it means we are able to provide the level of service that is expected from the customer , which I believe to be the reason why customers should and do shop with us. Our Technical knowledge I would consider to be of the highest, but that only comes from years of experience with working within the company and with each other. The staff provide a friendly atmosphere as well as being professional in the way they present themselves to both existing and potential customers. I believe because this Plumbers Merchants is one of the largest within the company we are able to offer more choice and a higher level of stock to other merchants within the area.
We have 3 dedicated delivery vehicles which can offer all types of service, whether it be quick response to delivering larger materials like bathrooms, gas boilers & flues, radiators, lead and Solar panels, we have a vehicle to suit all these needs for our customers. We adopt a same day delivery service which is free and we also can offer deliveries to customers who may live further away. Our Delivery service helps us to secure a lot of our business. We also have a large free car park for our customers too.
